Have you been in a earthquake?
have you been in a earthquake? well earthquakes happen when two rocky get together and forms a lot of pressure which makes earthquakes. the biggest earthquake was in Chile in 1960 they had the most largest earthquake and suddenly they had a huge tsunami. A tsunami forms by when the water grounds has a crack then the water builds to much pressure that it forms a tsunami like a earthquake. this week we did a experiment about how earthquakes form you can look at the video to see how my experiment went like maybe you can do one to.
Kea's tsunami experiment
on Monday the 14th of June 2021 we had a tsunami experiment.
First, we had to go to whaea Sam's workshop [teacher] . Then, we went in our groups. My group was Fane, Hena, Jeff, Sam and Peyton [friends].
Second, we got our equipment. The equipment we had was grey rocky rocks, big beautiful shells, green healthy leaves and tiny bright yellow sand. After that we got a long skinny grey tray to put our equipment in. When we put our equipment in we put in nice clear water.
Third, we made a bio shield. [A bio shield is something that looks after your village] we used shells and rocks to make the bio shield. Then we used the sand to make the beach. Then we put some nice creations on the beach. Like leaves ,houses and sticks. It was so stable that it was like metal!!
Last and finally we did a test on our beach. We used brown cardboard to push the water. It made humongous waves. The results were half destroyed and half not wrecked.
